Sock Features

Hover over the highlighted areas below to learn about the special features of this sock.

Welt Cuff
This sock features a welt-cuff. A welt-cuff is a double layer of knit fabric. This is an attractive and durable cuff that will not stretch out.
Leg
The leg of this sock is a slightly longer crew length so it comes to the lower part of the calf. This sock features comfortable terry loop construction on the entire leg for warm comfort. Leg features a true rib stitch.
Top of Foot (Instep)
The top of the foot is made of the same merino wool terry loop. Unlike some of our socks, this sock is cushioned throughout the foot, not just on the sole.
Heel
The heel is made of the same terry loop as the sole and the arch of the foot. There is no transition of materials.
Toe
This closure is stitched loop-for-loop on the knitting machine that produces a seamless closure on the inside and outside of the sock. This reduces blisters caused by bunched up sock material.
Bottom of Foot (Sole)
The sole is made with terry loop. This loop provides cushioning and has a very soft feel. This sole has relatively substantial cushioning.

Sockspert Opinions

John's Thoughts

This is a really nice wool/silk sock in a cooler weather weight. This sock features terry loops from the toe to the top. This loops really adds to the feeling of softness and provides cushioning.

This is the kind of sock that you want to have on your feet when there is snow on the ground but you won't want to have some super heavy and tall boot sock on. The merino wool and silk blend provide natural warmth and comfort.

The height of this sock is what I would call tall crew to mid-calf length. It isn't quite a boot sock but it is about an inch or two longer than a crew length. The extra length keeps my legs a little warmer in cooler months.

This sock reminds me a lot of the extraordinary comfort of the Merino Lite Hiker (one of my all time favorites). When the temperatures start to drop a bit, this is my replacement for the Lite Hiker.

While considered a hiking sock, I honestly wouldn't suggest hiking in the summer in this sock, it is just too warm.
